Nigerians in New York Book Talk: How Depression Saved My Life by Chude

  • The Center at West Park 263 West 86th Street New York, NY, 10024 United States (map)

What happens when you stop running from the thing that's breaking you — and let it remold you instead?

Join Chude Jideonwo, lawyer, storyteller, and host of one of Africa's most watched talk shows, #WithChude for an intimate evening of readings and conversation from his book How Depression Saved My Life.

In 2016, Chude walked away from his role as CEO of one of Nigeria's leading media companies. What followed was a season of clinical depression and the kind of silence so many of us know but rarely speak about. That season of darkness however led him somewhere unexpected: building a platform dedicated to stories of healing, resilience, and growth.

It's the story of what becomes possible when you stop pretending you're fine and start turning pain into joy.

This event will be held in the Board Room of St. Paul & St. Andrew.
