Set shortly after 9/11, and based on true events, Nick is a fire captain tasked with writing eulogies after losing most of his men in the attack.
Nick reaches out to Joan, an editor, to help him in creating the eulogies he must read at their memorial service. Nick and Joan spend an afternoon together, retelling stories of the many men who passed, sharing tales of their valor and their life, and shaping them into written word.
The Guys commends the bravery of those who were lost, as Nick and Joan tell their stories through a mix of sensitivity, humor, and a little bit of tango.
The Guys originally opened off-Broadway at The Flea in 2002, starring Sigourney Weaver and Bill Murray.
Starring Melissa Wolff, who has spent many years touring the show around for firefighter audiences on the east coast, and Kevin Shea, an actor and FDNY 9/11 survivor.
David Skeist, the Producing Director at Caborca Theater, a bilingual theatre company based out of Brooklyn, NY will be directing.
