Join us April 27th at 7:00 PM for CWP’s Film Club Kick-Off: Dog Day Afternoon followed by a talkback with the writer of the Broadway adaptation, Stephen Adly Guirgis!
The film Dog Day Afternoon (1975) follows Sonny Wortzik (Al Pacino) and Sal Naturile (John Cazale) as they attempt to rob a bank in Brooklyn. As the two attempt their first ever robbery, the situation quickly escalates to a hostage situation, involving the FBI, a whirlwind of media coverage and the shocking reveal of why they are robbing the bank in the first place.
About the CWP Film Club
