COMMITTED? A Ritual For Robbie, is a neurotic, erotic, psychotic tale of transformation.

Why live?
What’s my purpose?
How do you transform the worst thing that’s ever happened to you?
Ever since her brother died by suicide, Lisa has been committed to CREATING something for Robbie-about Robbie-about surviving Robbie. It took over 30 years.
COMMITTED? A Ritual for Robbie, is a neurotic, erotic, psychotic tale of transformation.
Sometimes the best way to honor the dead is to get hilariously, messily, beautifully alive.
Chock-full of revelations, contemplations, ruminations, and an impression of one extremely blunt chain smoking Jewish mother, this solo tragicomedy touches on everything from metaphysics to Antigone to sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll.
COMMITTED? will make you laugh/cry/and wonder how a show about suicide can be so much fun. lt’ll rip your heart open, then give you hope.
Kicking suicide out of the closet and into community conversation, Lisa unabashedly reveals her imperfect recovery from her brother’s death … explores why he jumped, and why it took so frigging long to tell the story.
A post show talkback, hosted by a mental health or suicide prevention expert, follows the performance- giving the audience the opportunity to interact with the material and each other.
This Ritual for Robbie sits at the intersection of art and mental health, striving to use the power of theatre to heal.
COMMITTED?'s two runs in Los Angeles were hailed by the critics as “daring and necessary…navigating the delicate balance between humor and heartbreak”, “an example of a solo show at its very best…profoundly funny, heartbreaking and bold”.
