The Balcony Theater is ideal for off-off-Broadway productions, readings, puppetry and avant-garde performances, workshops, rehearsals, meetings, and classes. 

This unique venue in the heart of the Upper West side includes a 32 feet wide by 15 feet deep stage, 18-instrument repertory lighting plot with a fully programmable console, 12-channel stereo sound system, Room for 60+ audience members in flexible seating, and three gorgeous Tiffany stained glass windows behind the audience. *Please note: wooden pew seating has been replaced with new padded black metal folding chairs for more comfortable and flexible seating.*

Entrance & Accessibility

Entrance on Amsterdam Avenue at 86th Street (Northeast corner). The Balcony Theater is located on the second floor above the Center at West Park’s Sanctuary Theater and is only accessible by stairs.

Rental Policies

Proof of insurance required for public performances and events.

Notice of cancellation must be made by email to info@centeratwestpark.org. No refunds for:

  • any event cancellation less than 72 in advance
  • any daily performance reservation less than 30 days in advance
  • any weekly performance reservation after the reservation is confirmed

Refunds for earlier cancellation may also be limited or prohibited by the terms of the License.
