About the Lead Artists

Artistic Director of NY International Dance Festival, Brigid Le Minez (née O’Leary), is originally from New York and has been immersed in the world of dance since a young age. She studied Irish step dance as a child, followed by ballet at Elfriede Merman’s Manhattan Ballet School, Joffrey Ballet School, Staten Island Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre’s summer program. As a teenager, she was introduced to character dance and it married Ms. Le Minez’s early interest in traditional folk dance and her ballet training. She has danced professionally with Staten Island Ballet Company, Victoria Ballet Theater, International American Ballet and American Liberty Ballet.

With an unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion, Brigid Le Minez founded the New York International Dance Festival. This project stems from her determination to cultivate talent and facilitate creative exchange.

Ms. Le Minez has had the honor of bringing the NY International Dance Festival to perform at Le Mandapa theater in Paris, France and we participate in other local dance festivals and events. NYIDF is a proud member of le Conseil International de la Danse-UNESCO and has non-profit status through The Field, NYC.

The CWP Evolution Festival is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
