ARTIST residencies

Our ARTIST Residency Program

The Center at West Park nurtures exemplary and boundary-pushing theater, dance, puppetry, opera, multi- and inter-disciplinary performance artists, and companies by providing free performance and rehearsal space with a guaranteed artist fee. We support the creation of new works and the re-examination of classics in contemporary contexts in order to amplify the voices of the diverse and boundary-pushing performing artists of New York City and to engage, inspire, and transform our community through the arts.

Since 2017, the Center at West Park has provided over 75 residencies serving over 600 individual artists and presented over 300 performances to over 15,000 audience members.

EVOLUTION FESTIVAL

SEP 8—OCT 15, 2022

The EVOLUTION FESTIVAL presented six original works of theater, dance, music, and interdisciplinary performance by NYC-based artists from September 8 to October 15, 2022, at The Center at West Park in New York City. The festival was curated by artists Christina Franklin, Melanie Greene, and Trevor Weston.
